Cooperative Education Employers

Thank you for considering to be an adult employment mentor for our students entering the world of cooperative education. “Hands-on” experience is one of the best ways for our students to continue learning the trades and skills for which they’ve completed class and shop training at our school. Your dedication to providing our students with this valuable service is greatly appreciated.

Clearances

Pennsylvania law requires that any company entering into a cooperative education agreement with a school sponsored program to designate one adult to secure the required federal and state criminal history and child abuse clearances. The clearances are valid for 5 years from the verification date listed on each documented clearance.

From the law: “The designated adult supervisor is required to be in the child’s immediate vicinity at regular intervals during the program. Immediate vicinity is defined as an area in which an individual is physically present with a child and can see, hear, direct and assess the activities of the child.”

Required Documents

Please see the directions and links to obtain the required clearances. Please return your completed clearances to either: Bonnie Stein or Tina Cutshall-Craft, Cooperative Education Coordinator, 860 Thurston Rd., Meadville, PA 16335
